It all started with a family Thanksgiving dinner and Grandma’s sugar cookie recipe from the sister’s childhood. After years of not getting together to make holiday sugar cookies with Grandma, Danielle decided to surprise the family at their 2017 Thanksgiving dinner. The cute turkey and cornucopia shaped cookies were a huge hit, creating nostalgia of their holidays in grandma’s kitchen. While Amber was preparing for Conner’s 3rd birthday, she asked Danielle to help with some delicious sugar cookies for the kiddos to enjoy. Once again, the yummy Spiderman themed cookies were a huge hit. After the party, Danielle walked away with her super-hero goodie bag, and a stack of orders from other moms to make more scrumptious cookies for their own parties.

It was January of 2018 when the Cooling Rack officially opened, and the order’s have not slowed down since. While taking courses at Texas State, Danielle continued to fill custom orders for different sugar cookies, along with other baked treats. Amber joined the business in 2019 when there were so many orders to fill that Danielle became a full-time baker. As the business continued to grow, both sisters started working in the bakery full time, and in June of 2022 they were blessed with the opportunity to open a brick-and-mortar bakery in La Vernia, TX. Now, they help mom’s and party planners all over South Texas have amazing baked goods for every type of event. Whether it is a birthday or holiday party, a corporate event, or printing business card cookies, these girls are doing everything to help you have the sweet treats to thrill your guests, fresh off the cooling rack. As a store-front bakery, the Cooling Rack is also able to fulfill your sweet tooth craving, where you can come in Tuesday through Saturday and buy fudgy brownies, rice crispies, lemon cheesecake bars, and traditional cookies, and seasonal treats to just savor yourself, or share with you family. Other moms have loved the extra special touch the cute cookies add to their kiddo’s birthday parties, and love knowing that while everyone may not eat the cake, everyone will eat a cookie. Danielle and Amber are eager to help with all your baked good desires.
